Caring for Pillar Candles

1. Trim the Wick: Before lighting your pillar candle, make sure to trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch. This helps to prevent excessive smoke and ensures a clean, even burn.

2. Burn Time: Pillar candles should not be burned for more than 2 hours at a time. This will prevents tunnelling, where the wax burns down the centre, leaving unused wax on the sides.

3. Extinguishing the Flame: To extinguish a pillar candle, use a snuffer or gently blow out the flame. Avoid blowing directly onto the candle, as this can cause hot wax to splatter.

4. Storage: When not in use, store your pillar candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps to preserve their shape and prevent colour fading.

5. Keep away from drafty areas as this will affect candle performance and always place candles on a dish when burning, to avoid mess. 

Caring for Wax Melts

1. Wax Warmer: Use a wax warmer specifically designed for wax melts. Ensure that the warmer is clean and free from any residue before use.

2. Melting Time: Allow the wax melt to fully melt and create a pool of liquid wax before turning off the warmer. This ensures a consistent fragrance release and prolongs the life of the wax melt.

3. Scent Mixing: If you enjoy experimenting with different scents, you can mix wax melts from different fragrances to create your own unique scent combination. However, make sure to only mix melts from the same brand to ensure compatibility.

4. Cleaning the Warmer: Once the wax melt has cooled and solidified, you can easily remove it from the warmer by gently applying pressure to the edges. Dispose of the used wax and wipe the warmer clean before using a new wax melt.

5. Safety Precautions: Always place the wax warmer on a heat-resistant surface and keep it away from flammable materials. Never leave a burning wax melt unattended.
